FHSU to hold summer science day camps
HAYS, Kan. -- As a way to give children grades four through eight the opportunity to exercise their brains this summer, the Fort Hays State University Science and Mathematics Education Institute is holding science day camps on the FHSU campus.
Fast Track Science, June 21 to 24, is for students in grades six through eight. Participants will use engineering, mathematics and science and technology concepts to design, build and fine-tune radio-controlled race cars. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Registration deadline is June 1. The cost is $60 per camper.
Kansas Starbase 2010 Summer Academy, June 28 to July 1, is for students in grades four through six. They will develop communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills while working with science and technology. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Registration deadline is June 1. The cost is $60 per camper.
