HAYS, Kan. -- The SuperCroc experience at the Sternberg Museum of Natural History of Fort Hays State University enters recent movie territory on Saturday, April 10, with a homegrown version of "Night at the Museum" for ages middle school and up.

"Sleepover with SuperCroc" begins at 7 p.m. and ends the following morning at 8 a.m.

The featured attraction, of course, is "The Science of SuperCroc" exhibit, which opened March 13 and features the actual 6-foot-long fossil skull of the SuperCroc; a cast of the full skeleton; a fleshed out reconstruction of the full 40-foot-long, 10-ton crocodile; and a copy of the skull for photo opportunities.

Activities will include a guided tour of "The Science of SuperCroc," viewing National Geographic's "When Crocs Ate Dinosaurs," snacking on barbecued alligator ("That's no crock," said Museum Educator Brian Bartels.), and watching a recent crocodilian cinematic thriller. Sweet rolls and beverages will be served for breakfast.

For museum members, the fee is $25 per person. For non-members, the fee is $35 per person. The number of participants is limited, so registration is required. Anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.
