HAYS,Kan. -- Several area students accepted Fort Hays State University scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year at a recent Student Recognition Program in Topeka.
The Topeka SRP recognized students from Shawnee, Brown, Coffey, Jackson, Jefferson, Lyon, Marshall, Nemaha, Osage, Pottawatomie, Riley and Wabaunsee counties.
Hayden High School
Samantha Tenpenny accepted a $1,200 Miller Black and Gold Academic Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in agriculture.

Holton High School
Leigha Sweet accepted a $700 Fort Hays Bronze Academic Award and a $500 Academic Opportunity Award in allied health.
