HAYS, Kan. -- Chandra Daffer, director of the Center for Student Involvement at Fort Hays State University, was elected the 2010 United Way of Ellis County president. Daffer's term will last through December of this year.

Daffer was nominated to the Board of Directors in January 2007 and served as vice president and president-elect this past year. Next year, Daffer will step into the past president position, acting as an advisor to the current president and an active member of the Executive Council.

"I am excited about the opportunities that I will have in this position," Daffer said. "I'm looking forward to enhancing the governance of the organization, continuing developing the implementation of the strategic plan and furthering the mission of UWEC in addition to being a positive advocate for the board to the constituents of Ellis County."
