HAYS, Kan. -- The Delta Zeta National Council has selected Fort Hays State University student Gena Myers, Goodland senior and Norton Community High School graduate, as the recipient for the prestigious 2009 Florence Hood Miner Award.
"Working with Delta Zeta over my college career has been a great experience," said Myers. "I feel honored and privileged not only to have won this award but to be a part of Delta Zeta and the great Fort Hays State community."
The award honors a member of the Delta Zeta sorority who in her junior year demonstrated outstanding leadership in her individual chapter and in other organizations on campus and in the community while maintaining a good academic record.
Florence Hood Miner devoted a lifetime of service to Delta Zeta and this award serves as a legacy to her leadership and the many contributions she made.
