Tiger Auction and Dinner tickets available for inaugural event on Aug. 27
Tickets are on sale through Friday, Aug. 13, for the Tiger Auction and Dinner, which will begin with a reception and silent auction at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, in the Fort Hays Ballroom in the Memorial Union on the Fort Hays State University campus. The live portion of the auction will commence around 8 p.m. Admission is $50, which pays for dinner, drinks and entry into the auction.
Proceeds will go to the Athletic Department operational fund, which helps all programs involving student athletes at FHSU.
FHSU alumni, members of the community and local and area businesses donated items for the auctions that range from household items and electronics to collectible sports memorabilia and rare art pieces.
Eagle Communications and Harries Motor Company partnered to donate a $15,000 car that will be given away at halftime of the FHSU versus Western State football game at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 28. Tickets for the car giveaway are available for a suggested $50 donation.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to bid on unique experiences like game time passes for the Hubbard Press Box and coach for a day with many of the FHSU coaches.
"We are in a position where we need to be proactive in seeking funding to generate the growth of the Athletics Department," said Curtis Hammeke, athletic director. "I'm thankful we have people in the community who see the need for this auction and are willing to step up to help the Athletics Department."
