FHSU hosts Chinese opera

HAYS, Kan. -- Faculty and students from Shenyang University, one of Fort Hays State University's partner schools in China, will present a special performance of "The Wilderness" at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 20th in Felten-Start Theatre in Malloy Hall on the FHSU campus. This is a limited tour with performances in Boston, San Francisco and Hays.
"The Wilderness" is the third opera in a trilogy written by Cao Yu, one of the most famous and influential Chinese playwrights of the 20th century. Set in the countryside of Northern China in the 1930s, "The Wilderness" is a tale of revenge interlaced with love and hate.
This performance is being presented by FHSU's Office of the President with assistance from the Chinese Scholars Association, the Chinese Student Association, the Center for Student Involvement, International Student Services and the University Activities Board.
Tickets for the performance will only be available for pick up in the International Student Services Office, Sheridan Hall, room 208.
