Lunar viewing at FHSU casts new light on moon

HAYS, Kan. -- In recognition of "International Observe the Moon Night," the Fort Hays State University Astronomy Club, Kappa Delta Phi and the Science and Mathematics Education Institute will host a moon viewing and presentation from 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, in Tomanek Hall, room 106.
The presentation will cover the history, myths and features we can see on the moon. Along with the presentation, the Astronomy Club will serve Tang, a drink specifically created for astronauts, and will have a crater activity where participants will create craters in flour to examine their structure.
