HAYS, Kan. -- Fort Hays State University's English Department, University Activities Board and office of Diversity Affairs will host the second annual Poetry Slam from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12, in Cody Commons in the FHSU Memorial Union, lower level.

A performance by guest artist and poet Gabriela Garcia-Medina will begin the evening. FHSU students will then compete in the Poetry Slam competition, a contest of urban poetic rhythms, words and self-expressive poetry all originally written and read by FHSU students.
