HAYS, Kan. -- A Fort Hays State University leadership class partnered with Hays Recreation and Boy Scouts of America to start the Hays Area Camping Library.

Through the library, new and used camping equipment will be available for check-out for community members and organizations for fun camping experiences.

The leadership class is asking for donations of new or gently used camping equipment.

Items needed:

-- Sleeping bags

-- Tents

-- Camp stoves

-- Backpacks

-- Lanterns

-- Sleeping pads

-- Canteens

-- Mess kits

-- Camping pots and pans

-- Dutch Ovens

-- Old scout uniforms

-- Any other camping equipment
