FHSU to host financial assistance help session

HAYS, Kan. -- Fort Hays State University will be one of 23 locations to host College Goal Sunday, a session in which people meet with financial aid professionals and get hands-on help with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Completing the FAFSA is the first step in the college financial aid process. Those interested can come and go as they please from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 13, in Cody Commons in the lower level of the Memorial Union.
CGS is free. It is supported by the Lumina Foundation and coordinated by the Kansas Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. The annual event is sponsored by USA Funds and the Lumina Foundation for Education.
In order to complete the FAFSA at the program, students and their parents will need: Social Security Number; driver's license; 2010 income tax return (if completed); 2010 W-2 forms and other records of money earned; 2010 untaxed income records; latest bank statement; 2010 business and investment mortgage information, business and farm records, and stock, bond and other investment records; and an alien registration card (if not a United States citizen).
