HAYS, Kan. -- The Blood Drive trophy stays at Fort Hays State University! For the eighth consecutive time, the Tigers have won the blood drive competition held every year against Emporia State University.
The goal for Tuesday, March 8, was 116 donations and 122 people donated blood. The goal for Wednesday, March 9, was 115 donations and 115 people donated.
"Thank you to the faculty and staff at FHSU for making the blood drive a success," said Dawn Gabel, the donor recruitment representative for Red Cross. "The students work on this event is amazing, but unless they can reach the student body through the classes and the dorms to communicate the need, then the even cannot be a success."
"The staff at the Memorial Union are so very wonderful and deserve so much credit for making the donations possible. Thank you from the American Red Cross and FHSU AKPsi," said Gabel.
