HAYS, Kan. -- Fort Hays State University's Greek community will host its annual Greek Week from April 11 to 15. The week will be full of fun activities for the Greek and campus community. It will end April 18 with the Awards Banquet, which will feature a student and staff speaker and recognize students in Greek life.

The Greek community is two sororities, four fraternities and an honorary organization called Order of Omega, which is an honor society for Greek life students. The sororities are Alpha Gamma Delta and Delta Zeta. The fraternities are Alpha Gamma Rho, Sigma Alpha Epsilon, Sigma Chi and Tau Kappa Epsilon.

The university and community are invited to be a part of the week. A Charity Pie Auction will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday, April 13, and inflatable games, such as an obstacle course, will be on the Quad. All proceeds raised will be donated to the United Way of Ellis County.

"Kristen's Story," a proactive, co-educational rape education program funded by the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation, will start at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center. It describes a young woman's acquaintance rape and subsequent suicide as told by her mother, Andrea Cooper. Participants will hear this moving narrative from Andrea herself. This event is free and open to the campus and community.
