FHSU faculty presentations: collaborative efforts creating quality E-learning

HAYS, Kan. -- A group of faculty members from Fort Hays State University made two presentations at this year's Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) International Conference in Nashville, Tenn.
The first presentation, a poster titled "Designing and Creating Engaging, Energetic and Extended (E³) E-Learning," was made by Dr. Hong Wang, assistant professor of instructional technology andcoordinator of instructional design at the Center for Teaching Excellence and Learning Technologies (CTELT); Dr. Liane Connelly, professor and chair of nursing; Dr. Amy Finch, professor and chair of communication disorders; Dr. Chapman Rackaway, associate professor of political science; Dr. Beth Walizer, associate professor of teacher education; Dr. Regi Wieland, assistant professor of advanced education programs; and Andy Tincknell, coordinator of media production in CTELT.The E³ e-learning project is a six-module online training resource that has been newly created in CTELT, and the faculty co-presenters have shared their first hand, online teaching experience through video clips in these self-paced learning modules.
The second presentation, a podium presentation made by Wang, was a paper titled "Integrating Free Tools and Content Creation to Engage Online Learners."
The SITE international conference is an annual conference sponsored by the Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education, which is an international, non-profit, educational organization with the mission of advancing information technology in education and e-learning research, development, learning and its practical application.
