RACAW poster contest winners announced

HAYS, Kan. -- Winners of the poster contest have been announced for the recent Research and Creative Activities Week (RACAW) at Fort Hays State University.
RACAW encourages creativity within the university to do make research more fun.
This years winners in the Kansas Academy of Math and Science category, Kathryn Schmidt, Atchison sophomore, and Alexis Greb-Bonham, Wellington sophomore, came in first place. Ben Davis, Wichita sophomore, and Andi Darden, Lansing sophomore, placed second. Bailey Spickle, Overland Park sophomore, Mersadez Tanner, Hays sophomore, and Dr. Gavin Buffington, Department of Physics chair, took third place.
In the undergraduate category, Valerie McAtee, Great Bend senior, and Dr. John Heinrichs, Department of Geosciences chair, placed first. Katelyn Clark, Atwood senior, and Jana Snyder, Ingalls senior, took second. Karina Barrett, Holcomb senior, took third.
In the Undergraduate Research Experience category, Keri Caudle, Hays freshman, and Dr. Brian Maricle, professor of biological sciences, took first place. Heath Owens, St. Francis senior, and Dr. Jordana LaFantasie, assistant professor of biological sciences, took second. Megan Casey, Plainville senior, and Aubrey Hegeman, Fowler senior, took third place.
In the graduate category, Benjamin F. Grover, Great Bend graduate student, took first place. Emily Shoemaker, Prairie Village graduate student, and Dr. Jayne Brandel, assistant professor of communication disorders, took second place. Dustin Reagan, Hays graduate student, took third place.
In the faculty category, Kyleigh Cole, Ransom graduate student, and Phillip Sechtem, instructor of communication disorders, took first place. Dr. Kenneth Neuhauser, professor of geosciences, took second place, and Christine Hober, assistant professor in nursing, took third.
