HAYS, Kan. -- Students can boost their brainpower using remote-control race cars in this summer's Fast Track Science Experience, a four-day camp, at Fort Hays State University's Science and Mathematics Education Institute from June 27 to June 30.
The camp uses high-powered, radio-controlled cars to show students entering grades six through nine the fun and relevance of science, technology, engineering and mathematics concepts. Students analyze scientific data to make fast cars even faster.
Students will also participate in team-based driving events that demand the real process of science using the real application of math. Students benefit by building teamwork skills and using hands-on math and science to tackle racing challenges.
Days begin at 9 a.m. and run to 4 p.m. at Rarick Hall on the FHSU campus. Cost is $60. Registration deadline is June 1.
