HAYS, Kan. -- Dr. Carrol Haggard, associate professor of communication studies at Fort Hays State University, in partnership with Dr. Patricia Lapoint, professor of management at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, recently published "Diggins/Reinholdt Plastics, Inc.: A Study in Resistance to Change in the Organization Development and Change."

It examines the role that communication plays -- both supportive and resistive -- in blending the organizational culture of two companies as the result of a merger.

The case has been included as a chapter in the new book "Cases and Exercises in Organizational Development and Change." The case, which is one of 30, was competitively selected for inclusion in the book.

The goal of the book is to provide coverage of all aspects of the organizational development process.
