HAYS, Kan. -- Dr. Raymond Wilson, professor emeritus of history and former chair of the Department of History at Fort Hays State University, was appointed to the Governor's Blue Ribbon Committee in Topeka.

The committee members, recognized experts on Kansas history, will select notable Kansans and events from Kansas history as a part of the 150-year anniversary celebration of Kansas statehood.

Events will take place all over the state by various organizations and groups including historical societies, libraries, public schools and fairs. Programs will be presented on the selected notables.
