FHSU Homecoming celebrations include athletic, educational, cultural events

HAYS, Kan. -- This year's Fort Hays State University Homecoming celebration will include a variety of ways for Tiger supporters to reacquaint with their old stomping grounds through such get-togethers as the class of 1951 and 1961 class reunions and the All-Year Football, Block and Bridle, Anderson VIP Ambassadors, and Wesley Foundation specialty reunions among many other events.

WEDNESDAY, Oct. 5:
Second City Comedy Tour
7:30 p.m., Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center.
Second City Comedy Tour is the leading brand in improvisational sketch comedy and where Saturday Night Live stars Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert and many other comedy all-stars got their start. Some material may not be appropriate for children under 13. Tickets are available on site. For more information, contact the University Activities Board at 785-628-5355.
THURSDAY, OCT. 6:
Tiger Alumni and Friends Golf Tournament
8 a.m. Registration, 9:30 a.m. Shotgun Start, Smoky Hill Country Club, 3303 Hall.
A continental breakfast will be served before a four-person scramble. Reservations are accepted on a first-come, first-served, paid basis. Women, men, senior and mixed-team divisions are available. Lunch will be provided. Proceeds will fund FHSU scholarships for deserving students.
Post Rock Alumni and Friends Chapter Social
5:30 to 7 p.m., Robbins Center.
Alumni can kick off Homecoming weekend by joining fellow Tiger alumni and friends for appetizers and drinks at an after-hours social hosted by the Post Rock Alumni and Friends Chapter.
Tiger Bonfire
7:30 p.m., Robbins Center, east lawn.
Tiger fans are welcome to celebrate and "burn up" the Pittsburg State University Gorillas. Sponsored by Tigers4Life and the FHSU Fraternity/Sorority Community. A special project to benefit FHSU students will be unveiled.
