HAYS, Kan. -- Senior Technology Day, an annual event hosted by the Department of Technology Studies at Fort Hays State University, will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 1, beginning with registration at 9 a.m. in the Fort Hays Ballroom in the Memorial Union. The event is a day dedicated to high school seniors who have an interest in technology studies.

An invitation goes out at the beginning of the school year to all area high school industrial arts teachers. They are encouraged to bring a group of seniors who may be interested in woods, metals or drafting -- or in becoming a teacher of those areas.

"About 80 students usually attend," said Darlene Cole, department administrative assistant.

Students will tour the department and attend short sessions in various subject areas. They will also go on a walking tour of the campus.

Lunch is included. Students are provided information about the department, student organizations, the university and scholarships they should apply for.
