The FHSU Panhellenic Council to host two empowering events

HAYS, Kan. -- Women in leadership and building confidence will be the subjects of the panel discussion and a workshop, respectively, sponsored by Fort Hays State University Panhellenic Council.
The Women's Leadership Panel, at 7 p.m.. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Memorial Union's Trails Room, will provide guidance success in college and in life. The panel will be Mary Hammond, member services coordinator for Kansas Medical Mutual Insurance Co.; Dr. Tisa Mason, FHSU vice president of student affairs; and Barbara Wasinger, mayor of Hays.
The "Be Bold: Be Confident Phired Up" workshop, at 7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Memorial Union's Fort Hays Ballroom, is aimed at empowering women through building confidence in themselves and developing social skills.
"Panhellenic Council's mission this year is to empower women on campus and in the community to take charge of their lives and be successful at whatever they choose to do," said Holly Weiss, Anthony senior and vice president of the Panhellenic Council. "The idea is for women to take ownership of themselves."
