Howell to present at Rural Law Enforcement Technology Institute

HAYS, Kan. -- Ed Howell, director of University Police at Fort Hays State University, has been selected by the National Law Enforcement and Corrections Technology Center to present and receive training at the Rural Law Enforcement Technology Institute Dec. 4 to 9 in Annapolis, Md.
The presentation is called "Bridging Technology with Practicality in a University Policing Environment."
"I feel honored to be selected by the NLECTC to present a topic on technology and to receive enhanced training in areas relational to technology leadership, information and assistance that benefit criminal justice agencies across the nation," said Howell. "This gives me an opportunity to showcase our existing technology at UPD and how it's applied in a collegiate law enforcement environment."
The National Law Enforcement and Correction Technology Center is a program of the Office of Science and Technology of the National Institute of Justice. Created in 1994, it serves as a broker offering support, research findings and technological expertise to assist state and local law enforcement and corrections personnel in performing their duties with enhanced safety and efficiency.
