Results from Balloon Launch to be revealed at Science Café

HAYS, Kan. -- Results from Fort Hays State University'sfirst successful high-altitude balloon launch, on Dec. 16, 2011, will berevealed at the next Science Café, 7 p.m. Thursday, March 8, at Gella's Dinerand Lb. Brewing Company,117 E 11th in Hays.
Dr. Jack Maseberg, assistant professor of physics, and Dr.Paul Adams, professor of physics and Anschultz Professor of Education, willpresent the tales and results from the balloon launch.
The launch was a joint venture of an undergraduate researchexperience project by a Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science student and aclass project for the Physics 100 class "Introduction to EngineeringScience."
Video footage of Kansas from the near-space launch will be shown,and Maseberg and Adams will discuss what was learned and talk about plans for the project.
This event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by theFHSU Science and Mathematics Education Institute.
