Kinsey Sicks Dragapella group to visit FHSU

HAYS,Kan. -- The Kinsey Sicks singing group will visit the Fort Hays StateUniversity campus at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20 in the Memorial Union Ballroom, performingtheir show "Electile Dysfunction." They will discuss the presidentialelection using parodies on songs and satire. FHSU's Gay Straight Alliance and the Diversity Affairs Office are sponsoring this event.
"Wewant to show the students another dimension of the lesbian, gay, bisexual andtransgender community," George Jackson III, coordinator of DiversityAffairs, said about the show.
TheDragapella group, formed in 1993, has had a varied performance record includingan Off-Broadway show in 2001, an extended run at the Las Vegas Hilton in 2006,and has produced seven albums. They have appeared throughout the U.S., Canada,Mexico, Europe and Australia.
TheirOff-Broadway show, "DRAGAPELLA! Starring the Kinsey Sicks" wasnominated for a Lucille Lortel award (the Off-Broadway Tony) as Best Musicaland a Drama Desk Best Lyrics award. They are featured in a concert film,"I Wanna Be a Republican," and the documentary "Almost Infamous,"which chronicles the groups Las Vegas run.
