FHSU to host annual majors and graduate programs fair

HAYS, Kan. -- The third annual Fort Hays State University Majorsand Graduate Programs Fair will be from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March13, in the Memorial Union's Fort Hays Ballroom. The fair is sponsored by Fort Hays State University's Office of the Provost, the Office of Student Affairs,and the Academic Advising and Career Exploration Center.
The event provides students with an opportunity to accessfaculty, staff and students from all academic departments in one location toassist in answering academic inquiries.
Undecided students can be exposed to the variety of majoroptions available. Students will learn about specific requirements for majors,curriculum and career options.
Students in a major can learn about minors, certificates,research opportunities and the Graduate School. Faculty and staff from alldepartments will be available to discuss topics such as what their program hasto offer, how students could benefit from a minor certificate, internships,research options and career opportunities.
Networking is made easy for students who have alreadydecided on a major and want to learn how to stand out in a sea of graduates.Students can meet faculty and staff from their academic department and begin tobuild relationships that can turn into job references. They can also meetstudents with the same interests.
Students who attend will be able to register for prizegiveaways, including a flat screen TV, two Blu-ray DVD players, two iPodShuffles and various FHSU items.
Students have an opportunity to enter a Facebook triviacontest for a chance to win an FHSU prize. Rules and regulations are posted onthe Academic Advising and Career Exploration Facebook page atwww.facebook.com/fhsu.aace. Trivia questions are posted each Thursday; answersare accepted until the following Wednesday. The drawing for winners will be atthe fair. Winners must attend to collect their prize.
