HAYS, Kan. -- The San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts in San Angelo, Texas, will soon exhibit the works of many talented ceramic artisans, including two Fort Hays State University students, from April 20 to June 24.

Ned Day, Miller, Neb., graduate student, and Katrina Florell, Hays graduate student, were both chosen by jurors Garth Clark and Mark Del Vecchio in the19th San Angelo National Ceramics Competition.

"In the past 20 years I've had two other students get into this exhibition, but never two at once," said Linda Ganstrom, professor of art and design.

Clarkand Del Vecchio are the foremost international dealers in 20th-century ceramics. They founded the Garth Clark Gallery in Los Angeles, even opening a second space in New York, that they ran from 1983 to 2008. Working as private dealers in Santa Fe now, they have published books and catalogues, organized eight major international symposia on ceramic history and criticism and received a number of awards, including lifetime achievement and honorary doctorates.
