FHSU's College of Education and Technology to sponsor KCIE workshops

HAYS, Kan. -- Fort Hays State University's College of Education and Technology will sponsor three workshops in June for the Kansas Center for Innovative Education (KCIE). Each workshop will be held at the Sternberg Museum from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m and will offer refreshments and handouts. Register early to ensure space.
Two are offered for one graduate credit each and one workshop can be taken for professional development. The two graduate credit workshops cost $235.50 plus a $50 registration fee. The cost for the professional development workshop is $55.25.
The two graduate credit workshops are:
June 20: "Texts Meets Technology: The Integration of Technology in Reading" will focus on the integration of fiction and non-fiction literature and incorporating technology into reading and mathematics instruction. This workshop requires a textbook, which adds to the total cost. The registration deadline is June 13.
June 22: "The Leadership Simulation for Team Building" is centered on a survival simulation to improve problem solving through learning interpersonal and rational skills and behaviors that lead to successful teamwork. The registration deadline is June 15.
The professional development workshop:
June 21: "I Can Do It: Effective Classroom Management" gives information about the elements necessary for successful classroom management including communication and learning styles to create a smoothly flowing classroom. Registration deadline is June 14. The fee is $55.25.
