HAYS, Kan. -- Dr. Jean Gleichsner, associate professor of agriculture at Fort Hays State University, has been selected by the Kansas Campus Compact as an Engaged Faculty Fellow for the 2012-2013 program year.
The Kansas Campus Compact, headquartered in Manhattan, has been building civic engagement into campus and academic life and pushing the boundaries of traditional education since its establisment in 2003. Twelve colleges and universities are members.
The Engaged Faculty Fellow Program allows selected individuals to serve a one-year term as a part of a cohort of up to three faculty members. The topic that Gleichsner's cohort will focus on is "What are the most effective promotion, recognition, and tenure strategies and structures for rewarding faculty for service-learning and community engagement?"
