HAYS, Kan. -- Fort Hays State University mobile apps, version 3, were released Sept. 19 with several new features, including a mobile tour of the university and mobile access to the Blackboard Learning Management System.
Version 3 also has an app created in partnership with the Chinese Student Association (CSA), said Dennis King, director of the Virtual College and learning technologies.
The university's mobile apps, sponsored by Nex-Tech and Nex-Tech Wireless, were launched in July 2011.
This release of version 3 was for Apple devices.
"The next project for the FHSU Mobile Team is adding the same functionality to the Android version and working on a College of Education and Technology app in partnership with Ohio State University," said King.
Following that update, the team will create an app that allows mobile access to all Tiger Tracks information. Currently, the FHSU Mobile Team is made up of representatives from the Virtual College and the Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science.
The CSA app provides information about FHSU and Hays to Chinese students who are either planning to come to Hays to study or who are already on campus.
The new apps join the join the functionality of a campus directory, a listing of courses, an athletics app, an academics program review, news, campus images and videos, a campus map, an emergency app, access to student media, a calendar, EnergyKS, and iTunes.
