FHSU student workers recognized at 2012 ACUI Region 11 graphic design competition

HAYS, Kan. -- Three students working as graphic designers for the Center for Student Involvement (CSI) at Fort Hays State University were recognized at the 2012 Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region 11 graphic design competition.
Adam Wilbur, Wichita senior, Mary McDermott, Wichita freshman, and Matt Niehues, Goff senior and former employee of CSI at FHSU, received three awards. The trio won first place in the Three or More Color Poster Design category and in Brochure Design. They won second place in T-shirt Design.
Each year's regional conference includes a graphic design competition, educational sessions, auctions and the annual conference awards.
Students can show off their eye for marketing and graphic design by submitting work. Winners are displayed at the annual conference and showcased in The Bulletin, a full-color magazine published in odd-numbered months by ACUI.
The next ACUI conference will be in the spring in St. Louis, Mo.
Founded in 1914, ACUI is a nonprofit educational organization that brings together college union and student activities professionals from hundreds of schools in seven countries. Its members work on urban and rural campuses, in two-year and four-year institutions, and at large and small schools. They are students and administrators whose mission is to build campus community.
