HAYS, Kan. -- Enrollment is open until Dec. 19 for four intersession classes at Fort Hays State University, which will run from Dec. 26, 2012, until Jan. 18, 2013.
This is the first time since the 1970s that classes at FHSU have been offered in the break between the fall and spring semesters.
Intersession courses count as a separate term in all areas except for financial aid, which will be included in the student's award for the spring 2013 semester. Payment deferment is an option for students who are receiving aid in the spring but, because of federal aid rules, any additional eligibility for intersession classes will be limited, if available at all. A separate application is required for intersession classes.
The four classes, each worth 3 credit hours:
GBUS673, Problems: Foundations of Lean Systems.
MGT101, Introduction to Business.
EDL952, Trends and Practice in Administration (education).
EDL856, Schools and Community Relations.
Three of the four courses can be taken for graduate credit. Students already in graduate school may pre-enroll for classes using TigerEnroll. Non-graduate students will not be able to enroll in graduate-level classes for the intersession. Students may begin their graduate school experience with intersession, but completed applications for graduate school must be received by Nov. 26.
Future intercession classes are planned for 2014, 2015 and 2016.
