HAYS, Kan. -- The Fort Hays State University men's rodeo team brought home silver from the Pratt Community College Rodeo in October.
Ty Rumford, Abbyville junior, won the steer wrestling and team roping and was the All-Around Cowboy for the rodeo.
"Ty winning two events is something that hasn't been done by anyone in our region for quite some time," said Charles "Bronc" Rumford, Ty's dad and rodeo coach at FHSU.
Blair Jones, Monte Vista, Colo., junior, placed third in steer wrestling and is in second place for the year-end title in that event.
Dakota Milner, Welda junior, and Jones are in the top three for the year in team roping.
"Fort Hays State rodeo has had at least three people in the championship round at every rodeo this fall," said Bronc Rumford. "This second-place finish is our highest finish in a couple of years."
Sam Tenpenny, Topeka junior, won second place in the women's goat tying at Pratt.
