China travel opportunity for FHSU students

HAYS, Kan. -- Three students at Fort Hays State University will have the opportunity to study at Sias International University in Xinzheng, China, and visit cities within China during July 2013.
The students will receive roundtrip airfare from Denver, Colo., to China and room and board at Sias. Students may also participate in travel excursions and the opportunity to enroll in courses for FHSU credit.
Courses of study available include Chinese language, Chinese culture, Chinese art, international trade, Chinese martial arts, Chinese dance, Chinese folk songs, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese chess and Chinese cooking.
Students must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at FHSU for the fall 2012 semester and fall 2013 semester and have a 2.75 minimum cumulative GPA.
The students are selected by a screening committee through an application and interview process. Recommendations are forwarded to President Edward H. Hammond for final selection.
