Student Government Association to host third annual 'Big Event'
A thank you to the community from students at Fort Hays State University hosted by the Student Government Association, Greek Life and Tigers In Service -- the third annual Big Event -- will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, April 4, at many sites around the community.
This one-day service project is a way for college students to show their appreciation to the Hays community for their continued support.
The SGA accepts projects from around the community, and students are assigned to those projects. The students will be notified beforehand where they are assigned for the day. The SGA will have a master list of projects for volunteers.
"Projects range from painting houses to raking leaves and reading to elementary students," said Jessica Tormey, SGA treasurer. "There will also be projects going on around campus such as cleaning up Big Creek."
The SGA asks for volunteers to assist with the event. Open registration will be in the SGA office, Memorial Union room 017, on the day of the event.
Students can pre-register by visiting http://www.fhsustudents.org/the-big-event/participate.
For more information, contact Christopher Roberts, SGA legislative affairs director, at 785-628-5311 or c_roberts4@fhsu.edu.
