The American Cancer Society and a Fort Hays State University leadership class team join to host Bark For Life of Ellis County from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 27, outside of Gross Memorial Coliseum.

Participants will take their dogs through an obstacle course and socialize with event sponsors.

The team's goal is for the community to recognize the importance of dogs in the companionship and healing process.

Registration is $25 per participant and $10 for student participants with school ID. Register for the event at www.RelayForLife.org/barkelliscoks . Donations are accepted online and on the day of the event.

"By supporting Bark For Life, you help the American Cancer Society save lives, and that helps us move closer to our ultimate goal of a world with less cancer and more birthdays," said Whitney Gillman, Silver Lake senior.

All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.

The Leadership 310 team members are listed by their hometown with their classification and major.

Hoyt: Jayde Boyer, a junior majoring in organizational leadership.

Lucas: Amanda Steinle, a junior majoring in radiologic technology.

Shenyang, China: Sunny Shao, a senior majoring in organizational leadership, and BuBu Zhao, a senior majoring in organizational leadership.

Silver Lake: Whitney Gillman, a senior majoring in health and human performance.
