FHSU's Ed Howell appointed regional representative of police chiefs organization
Ed Howell, director of Fort Hays State University Police, was appointed in February as representative for Region 5 of the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police, which is a board position for the organization.
He was appointed by KACP President Sean Wallace, chief of police for Arkansas City.
Region 5 comprises 30 northwest Kansas counties, bounded by Rice County in the southeast, Greeley County at the southwest corner, Cheyenne in the northwest and Jewell in the northeast.
The association was created more than 40 years ago to advance professionalism and effectiveness in Kansas law enforcement. It has more than 500 members.
