German films and "Kaffeestunde" (coffee with study) sponsored by Fort Hays State University's Department of Modern Languages will kick off with a movie at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, in Albertson Hall, room 169.

The public is welcome. Attendance is free.

The movie "Kokowääh" is, according to Turner Classic Movies (www.tcm.com), the story of Henry, a writer who "has had a run of bad luck in both his love life and his work life." He is offered work on adapting a bestseller with the author, who happens to be his ex-girlfriend, Catherine. He also happens to be in love with her. Then, an 8-year-old girl, who happens to be the daughter he didn't know he had, turns up on his doorstep.

The Department of Modern Languages also offers the weekly "Kaffeestunde," which literally translates into "coffee" and "study" at 5 p.m. each Tuesday behind Starbucks in the Memorial Union on the FHSU campus. Students, faculty and members of the Hays community are welcome to practice German while enjoying coffee.
