Dr. Carrol Haggard, associate professor of communication studies at Fort Hays State University, recently presented two co-authored papers at the Allied Academies International Conference in San Antonio.
The first paper, "Culture, Gender and Ideology As Predictors of Advertising Effects: How Chinese and U.S. College Students are Influenced by Climate-Change Ads," was co-authored with Dr. Qingjiang Yao, a former faculty member of FHSU's Department of Communication Studies who is now teaching at Lamar University, Beaumont, Texas, and Dr. Luyan Cai of Guangdong Teachers' College of Foreign Language and Arts, Guangzhou, China.
This paper examined the impact of gender and political ideology on the perceived effectiveness of advertisements that advocate actions to reduce climate change by comparing responses of U.S and Chinese college students.
The second paper, "Alpha C306 Project (B): Planning the Project," was co-authored with Dr. Patricia Lapoint, professor of management at McMurry University, Abilene, Texas. This case study was the second in a five-part series that examines the stages of the product planning process.
