Director of police at FHSU wins high office in Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police
02/26/14
Ed Howell, director of police at Fort Hays State University, won a special election to serve as sergeant-at-arms for the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police (KACP) Board of Directors.
However, the position will soon be open again, when Howell, as the sergeant-at-arms, moves into the position of vice president for the board, which is also vacant. That move is provided for in the KACP constitution. Another special election will be held to fill the sergeant-at-arms position.
The KACP is a non-profit corporation organized "to secure a closer official relationship amongst police officials throughout the state, to secure unity of action in police matters, and to elevate the standard of police institutions and the police profession generally."
