Fort Hays State University's Sternberg Museum of Natural History will pay tribute to the late Dr. John Heinrichs, professor of geography and chair of the Geosciences Department, at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at the museum, 3000 Sternberg Drive.

Beginning at 7 p.m., Dr. Mark Tschudi, instructor of geosciences, will give a memorial talk about Dr. Heinrichs, who passed away unexpectedly Jan. 11 at age 56.

Following the memorial at 7:40, the movie "Chasing Ice" will be shown in honor of Dr. Heinrichs. While teaching at FHSU, Dr. Heinrichs was also heavily involved in geoscience and climate change research.

"Chasing Ice" uses time-lapse cameras to compress years into seconds to document the world's changing glaciers and its chilling results.

The evening will end with a short question and answer session.
