FHSU agriculture students offer lawnmower tune-ups
03/25/14
Changing oil, sharpening blades and cleaning air filters are some of the services that Fort Hays State University's Agribusiness Club will offer at its third annual lawnmower clinic from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, outside of Davis Hall on the FHSU campus.
Club members encourage those participating to drop off their lawnmowers from 5 to 7 p.m. in front of Davis Hall the day before (Friday, March 28) or before 10 a.m. on Saturday. The cost for service is $40.
Proceeds will help the club finance its annual trip. "We take the agribusiness students to different areas within the region to explore some different types of agribusiness career opportunities," said Dr. Craig Smith, assistant professor of agriculture.
The clinic will feature full-service maintenance by trained personnel. No major repairs will be made. The clinic is limited to servicing 40 mowers.
Reservations can be made by contacting the FHSU Agribusiness Club at 785-628-4368, or by emailing Smith at cmsith11@fhsu.edu.
