FHSU faculty receive tenure, promotion

Twenty faculty members at Fort Hays State University who have been promoted, granted tenure or both will be recognized at a reception at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, in the Memorial Union's Black and Gold Room.
The changes go into effect in fall 2014.
Eight faculty members were granted tenure and promoted to the listed academic rank:
Dr. Jayne Brandel, associate professor of communication disorders.
Dr. Leo Herrman, associate professor of psychology.
Dr. John Raacke, associate professor of justice studies.
Dr. Irena Ravitskaya, associate professor of music and theatre.
Dr. Scott Robson, associate professor of communication studies.
Dr. Stacey Smith, associate professor of management and marketing.
Kenny Rigler, instructor of applied technology.
Kathleen Ward, associate professor of nursing.
Eight faculty members were promoted to the listed academic rank:
Dr. Jill Arensdorf, associate professor of leadership studies.
Dr. Jeff Burnett, professor of health and human performance.
Dr. Joyce Ellis, associate professor of health and human performance.
Dr. Sharla Hutchison, associate professor of English.
Dr. Patricia Levy, professor of social work.
Dr. Janett Naylor-Tincknell, associate professor of psychology.
Amy Schmierbach, professor of art and design.
Dr. Phillip Sechtem, instructor of communication disorders.
Four faculty members were granted tenure:
Dr. Krisztina Bencze, assistant professor of chemistry.
Dr. Pauline Scott, professor of English.
Dr. Bill Weber, assistant professor of mathematics and computer science.
Dr. Houssain Kettani, professor of informatics.
