FHSU to host TOMS One Day Without Shoes
04/25/14
TOMS One Day Without Shoes is a day for everyone to experience what it would be like to live in places where children don't have shoes. Fort Hays State University's Tigers in Service and Global Leadership Project will host events on Monday, April 28, to lead up to the One Day Without Shoes events on Tuesday, April 29.
A booth to raise awareness will be set up from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday in the Memorial Union. Participants can bring their own T-shirts to the booth to stencil a TOMS awareness message or receive a TOMS awareness sticker. A Path Without Shoes will be set up both days for participants to experience what different terrains feel like without shoes.
At 10 a.m. Tuesday, participants can turn their shoes into the booth in the Memorial Union and go one day without shoes. Shoes must be picked up by 2 p.m. A shoeless march around campus will begin at the union at noon.
