Phi Beta Lambda chapter to represent FHSU at national competition

Ten management and marketing students at Fort Hays State University placed in state competition held Feb. 28 through March 1 in Arkansas City, and nine students will represent FHSU in national competition.
The national competition will be June 24 through June 27 in Nashville, Tenn.
To qualify for nationals, students had to place in top two for a presentation event or top three in an objective testing event
FHSU received 11 first-place finishes, six second-place finishes and four third-place finishes.
The collegiate division of Future Business Leaders of America, Phi Beta Lambda, is a nonprofit education association that helps students prepare for careers in business-related fields.
In the Cyber Security competition, Darryl Lam, Liberal (67901) junior, placed second.
In Hospitality Management, Jessica Schmidt, Elizabeth, Colo. (80107), freshman, and Felix Albl, Amberg, Germany, sophomore, placed second.
In Human Resource management, Gustavo Reyes, Garden City (67846) senior, and Schmidt placed second. Reyes also placed first in Impromptu Speaking.
In Job Interview, Chris Simmons, Hays (67601) senior, placed first.
In Market Analysis and Decision Making, Tory Arnberger, Great Bend (67530) junior, and Brittany Ballou, Hastings, Neb. (68901), junior, placed second.
In Network Concepts competition and the Computer Concepts, Chris Simmons, Hays (67601) senior, placed second and Lam placed third.
In Network Design, Simmons and Lam placed first. A third team member, who also placed first in Network Concepts, Computer Concepts, Help Desk Event and Cyber Security requested privacy.
In Project Management, Kelsie Erlenbusch, Grand Island, Neb. (68872), junior, placed first and Albl placed third.
In Public Speaking, Cheney Rutherford, Elizabeth, Colo. (80107), sophomore, placed third.
In Retail Management, Ballou placed first.
In Sales Presentation and the Integrated Marketing Campaign, Arnberger placed first.
