HAYS, Kan. --- The Student Government Association at Fort Hays State University will host a candidate forum beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Robbins Center.
Candidates Sue Boldra, James Leiker, Pat Roberts, Greg Orman, Tim Huelskamp and Jim Sherow have been invited to attend the candidate forum. Boldra, Leiker, Sherow and a representative from the Orman campaign have confirmed attendance.
The forum will begin with Kansas House District 111 candidates Boldra and Leiker. Both candidates will give an opening statement, after which moderator Dr. Joe Romance, assistant professor of political science at FHSU, will open the proceedings to questions from the public.
Next, Jim Sherow, candidate for the Kansas First District U.S. House seat opposing incumbent Tim Huelskamp, will present his opening statement. Huelskamp has thus far declined to appear at the forum.
The representative for Orman, candidate for the U.S. Senate, is currently scheduled to be the last speaker before Romance opens the proceedings to questions from the audience for this portion of the program.
The Student Government Association and sponsor Hays Area Chamber of Commerce invites the Hays Community and any Kansas voters to attend the event free of charge.
