Throughout the month of October, the Red Flag Campaign, sponsored by the Women's Leadership Project at Fort Hays State University, will address dating violence on college campuses.

The strategy of the program is for friends and other members in the community to report when they see signs, "red flags," of relationship violence. The campaign has featured eight posters and a calendar of events in Forsyth Library and the Memorial Union. Each poster addresses one of several themes: coercion, emotional abuse, sexual assault, victim-blaming, excessive jealousy, isolation, and stalking. These eight red flags are the most common signs of abusive relationships.

Other events in the campaign:
-- A self-defense workshop from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in Cunningham Hall, room 110.

-- From 11 a.m. through 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 and 7, a table in the Memorial Union with information about the campaign, and the chance to purchase a shirt to show support.

-- A Times Talk titled "What is the Red Flag Campaign and Bystander Intervention?" from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Forsyth Library.
