The Fort Hays State University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Brad Dawson, assistant professor of music, performed at the Wichita Jazz Festival with other college and high school bands on April 24.
This is a yearly event that allows FHSU students to hear other bands and vice versa. Each band gets written comments and a brief clinic after their performance.
Dawson said the event "helps our students to improve as musicians."
