The First District 2015 Selection Committee will gather on the Fort Hays State University campus Saturday, Oct. 31, to interview candidates from Kansas' first district who are seeking nominations to the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force, and Merchant Marine academies.

The committee of nine was assembled by U.S. Congressman Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan.
Each year, members of Congress have the opportunity to nominate young men and women between the ages of 18 and 23 from Kansas' first district to apply for a limited number of positions at four of the nation's five military service academies. Included on the interview committee is Hays insurance broker John Pyle.
