HAYS, Kan. -- Three faculty members who have worked extensively with Fort Hays State University's large number of international students used that knowledge in their presentation at the 2015 Region IV NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Conference recently in Beaver Creek, Colo.
Carol Solko-Olliff, international student services director, Lynn Adams, student health director, and Dr. Kenton L. Olliff, assistant vice president for student affairs, presented "Collaboration to Elevate International Students Wellness." The presentation discussed how to introduce international students to a variety of campus support services, such as counseling and health services.
"By educating students about wellness services soon after their arrival, their transition to campus life can be much easier and more satisfying," said Olliff.
Almost 350 student affairs professionals from North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming as well as Manitoba and Saskatchewan, Canada, attended the conference.
