Director Howell appointed to regional council

HAYS, Kan. -- Ed Howell, director of the Fort Hays State University Police Department, has been appointed as the Northwest Region representative for the Homeland Security Council for the Kansas Association of Chiefs of Police.
Howell is in his 30th year in the FHSU Police Department, including the last 10 as department chief. He is a member of the KACP board, and his term as president of the organization ended last October.
The KACP's Homeland Security Council comprises seven regions. The Northwest Region is 18 counties that stretch from the Colorado border to as far east as Russell County and from the Nebraska border south to Ness and Rush counties.
